Maybe you've seen curling on TV, especially during the Winter Olympics. You know, that sport in which people try to get a 42-pound granite stone from one end of the ice to the other. They have brooms and people yell, "sweep!" How does that scoring work anyway? Now is your chance to not only learn about curling so that you'll be prepared for the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, BC, but to try it yourself in an Beginning Curling class at PCC.

Taught by experienced curlers from Evergreen Curling Club, the class includes off-ice instruction on curling rules, etiquette, and safety, followed by on-ice practice. Learn to deliver, sweep, score, and play an actual game.

"Curling truly is a sport for people of all ages – it appeals to almost everyone," says curling instructor Doug Schaak. "It's a unique game, one that everyone should try at least once. But be careful – once you try it, you might be hooked!"
